Random Thoughts Of Iceman

"Aight after a long while of playing this game I have realized many many things. First many people seem to call it a game, which it is in reality it is. But is this game really just a game? Travis has added many feature along the way, in my opinion all these features have made one huge community. The forum, messages, stats, and clans have made this game different in many aspects, example I know I don't play THE GAME much as a lot of players don't but you can usually catch me in the forum, or reading my messages, and sometimes even checking out stats and clans. How many games can you honestly say you meet people from all across the world; different in every conceivable way? There may be a few but how about this: How many games can you log on and meet actual friends, people who you can talk about anything and everything, sometimes game related sometimes just things about things in real life? I can bet none other than this one.

On GT if you've played longer than a couple months most people should at least know who you are. The game is a game yes, but talking to people on AIM and MSN is beyond just a game. I know many people on here have met people they can depend on and talk to for hours. Most will not admit this because they think it means they have no life or that they are a loser but I completely disagree. Sometimes the game is taken too far, but after all it's just a game right? I think there are way too many personal attacks for this being a game, not that I truly care because thats what makes the game, the actual people not the player they are behind. OK enough with this worn out subject, and feel free to call me a loser if you want, I don't care unless it's someone that I actually talk to. So the rest of you can blow me (for lack of a better term).

Second thing I've noticed is with the clans. It seems any clan that you could join has a few shitty members (again lack of a better term). Example for this: You quit the clan, a few people talk shit about you and are no longer your friend because you quit (I know all of you have been through this because EVERY CLAN has people like this). It's kind of messed up how people are about issues like that but that all comes back to the part of the game, if you want "real friends" off of here make sure you really know them. Almost every clan is different too though, it can be the members that define the clan or the way the clan is set up to almost any other variable. Clans add a HUGE difference to this game. That's about all for all the clan stuff.

Third thing I've notice is the rise off GGer's, which is sad to me since I love to play TG. It's all prefrence but I think the GGer's take being attack (which is part of the game) way too serious and need to just chill about that. A couple things I noticed that spawned all these GGer's, the first is the 80 rule and thats just pointless. If your behind early you need to start attacking and getting those 8's and -16's, -14, ect. if your really want to win. Then again it's just the way I play. Second thing that I think has spawned all the GGer's is the demo that Travis made. Instead of having a noob not knowing what to do now, they read it play a little bit and automatically think it's oh so wrong to attack. The last thing is connection speed. There's a big difference there, I know I've been from 56k to DSL then back to 56k now. With a fast connection you can almost always get 11's and 12's (assuming your a decent player), but when you have a crappy connection you SOL in that area for the most part. So the people with fast connections just want to win easy and quick almost effortless (which I usually prevent and get a nice WTF!??!??!?!!?!?!?!?!? from people which is really funny I think, even in the 90's people say it, it's getting bad.) Lastly about this TG really makes you a well rounded player because you have to learn along the way to use logic and counter with the right moves at the right time.

I guess the last thing I'll say is if your playing a noob, and I mean a fresh noob try to help him/her out. I hate all the time but you never know who the next player will be, so at least give them a couple of games to adjust to this new game. Oh and while I'm on it, hating is taken way too serious, probably the reason why I'm in the clan I am (WST). We all seem to not care and just attack each other, that doesn't affect the friendships we have (most of the time lol). I know for a fact I would rather win a game by countering a hater or getting constant 8's by attacking that GIFT GIFT GIFT . Both show skill. Blah blah blah I suddenly got bored of typing so I will end it.

Bottom line:

Screw GGer's that bitch and moan, It just makes me want to attack you more.

It's a game yes, but once it gets outside of the actual game it's no longer "just a game"

Try to meet people here and I bet if you meet a few people you won't be leaving for a long while.

Just my thoughts after playing this addicting game for about a year and a half."
