Now THAT'S Good Game
You all know there has been much speculation on this term GG. Some think it means one thing, while others have a completely different idea as to its meaning. I remember when Beavis, myself, and Dude123 first started PRT, and tried to put all the past forum postings and arguments behind me so I could describe to you what we TRULY had in mind when PRT was created.
The basic idea of PRT, besides helping the newcomers, was a union of the finest players, all equal, and those known to be tough competitors yet good people and a pleasure to play against, even if we lost. Being as the majority of the top players and those with potential were already friends, it was easy to build a union of elite.
Now as for the term of GG, well I have thought long about it, and although some situations in life may call for tactics along the lines of "GG", it's just not about attacking before 80. I mean no disrespect to my friend and brother Gotenks, who basically brought that idea to the GT public and made it a sort of rule of thumb. But it also brought a certain amount of Politics as well.
Games themselves have enough "rules" and when it boils down to it, only one walks away the winner in each game. Fighting should and IS allowed in any round in this game, making it legal. I know myself, I play to win. I will double as much as I can, try to pull others out of the lead by attacking, whatever it takes. I want to win. I donÔÇÖt wait for the magic number 80 to appear before I feel have options. I let the game HAPPEN and try to make it work in my favor.
I donÔÇÖt feel anyone is a hater if they attack in any round. I feel they are attempting to win, and try to counter their attacks with defense. I feel that true haters are those who can't be civil while trying to win a game, and attack just to attack just one person for the fun of zeroing someone without just cause. A hater to me is someone who posts and says to players in game things that are racist, homophobic, or too vulgar to even address here.
I believe if you come into game with the idea of winning and having fun with others, being a tough competitor and yet a good loser, thatÔÇÖs GG. If you come into game to try and make someone look bad, zero them for no reason or make racial or gender slurs, thatÔÇÖs a hater.
I donÔÇÖt expect everyone to agree with me on this, for its just how I view things. But I do know thatÔÇÖs more what PRT was created for and our way of saying, Damn, thatÔÇÖs some GG.
